When you hand in your sports bag, a sticker with the same bib number will also be placed on your sports bag. After you run, you will only be able to collect your bag by showing your bib to match the matching sticker.

Please note once you hand in your bag, you will not be able to access it again until after you run. Each runner is allowed to store only one bag, so please plan accordingly.

Changing Rooms

Changing rooms will be available at the designated facilities on campus. Pease note that showers will not be provided in the changing areas.

Starting Time

Please plan to arrive at least one hour before the start time of your race category. Race day can be quite hectic due to traffic, and arriving early will give you enough time to change, check in your luggage, and warm up comfortably.

We also recommend attaching your bib to your shirt the night before to minimize last-minute preparations on race morning.

Kindly double-check your race category’s starting time to ensure a smooth and stress-free start.

Parking

All participants should access the university through Gate A, located along USIU Road, Exit 7off the Thika Superhighway, behind Safari Park Hotel.

The run will start at the University football pitch, which will be the main event village.

Parking will be available in the designated university parking lots, but spaces are limited we strongly encourage participants to carpool where possible or use a taxi/cab. Please note: No vehicles will be allowed onto the field or the event village area on race day.

Supply Stations

Hydration stations will be positioned at 2.5KM, 5KM, and 10KM marks on both sides of the route to ensure easy access for all runners. An additional water and refreshment point will be available at the finish line to help you rehydrate and recover.

Vendors and Exhibitors

All vendors and exhibitors for the USIU-Africa Half Marathon are required to complete set-up by Saturday, July 25, 2026, no later than 6:00 PM.

Set-up on race morning will not be permitted.

Security will be provided overnight to safeguard all vendor booths and equipment, but vendors are encouraged to secure valuables responsibly. Please ensure your stall is neat, branded, and compliant with waste disposal rules.
