VIDEO & PHOTOGRAPHY RELEASE

Event Name and Description: The USIU-Africa Half Marathon

Location: USIU-Africa and the designated tracks  

Date of Livestreaming, Videography & Photography: 26th July, 2026

1. Purpose

This form seeks your consent for the collection, use, and sharing of still photographs, video recordings or livestreaming during the USIU-Africa Half Marathon. The footage will be used for:

  • Publicizing the USIU-Africa Half Marathon on USIU-Africa’s website and social media platforms to create awareness and/or for educational and promotional purposes.

2. Use of Images and/ or Recordings

By signing below, you agree that: –

  1. You grant USIU-Africa the permission to photograph, record, or livestream your participation in the event.
  2. These images/recordings may be shared publicly on our social media platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, YouTube, USIU-Africa’s website and promotional materials (e.g. posters, newsletters).
  3. Live streaming will occur in real time and footage cannot be edited to remove specific individuals after broadcast.
  4. Participants who do not wish to be photographed or recorded must collect and wear the red sticker provided at collection Photographers/videographers will avoid capturing individuals wearing this sticker.

 

 

3. Your Rights Under the Data Protection Act (Kenya)

  1. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting pr@usiu.ac.ke and with a copy to dataprotection@usiu.ac.ke
  2. Withdrawal does not affect content already published.
  3. Withdrawing consent after the livestream will not remove your image from archived recordings or materials already published.
  4. You may request access to your data or ask for corrections.
  5. Footage will be retained for ONE (1) year unless deleted earlier at your request.

4. Declaration

I acknowledge that USIU-Africa will handle all personal data, including my images, video and/or voice recordings, in strict accordance with applicable data protection laws and regulations. My personal information and images, video and/or voice will be securely stored and used solely for the purposes outlined in this consent form. I understand that I may withdraw my consent at any time by emailing pr@usiu.ac.ke and dataprotection@usiu.ac.ke,  and USIU-Africa will cease using my images, video and/or voice upon such withdrawal, although prior use will not be affected.
